Hi, I am Martine, a Reiki Master Teacher, Energy & Holistic Practitioner. Lymphatic Drainage Therapist, Teacher & Coach. I will be carrying out the Holistic treatments. I am originally from Scotland and emigrated to Christchurch, New Zealand in 2008. I would describe New Zealand as God's Country and I love and adore the Country and it's Maori Culture. The Maori culture is in fact rather akin to Scottish culture hence why I feel ''at home'' here. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for being able to live here being surrounded by dramatic scenery, beauty and the Kiwi way of life!
I was initiated in Reiki first in Scotland and then carried on with my Reiki studies in New Zealand. After all we continue learning each and every day!
Prior to learning and being attuned to Reiki I was a receiver and it was so beneficial to me that I eventually decided that it was time to advance with my personal growth and made the choice to learn about and to become attuned to Reiki to enable me to become a Reiki Practitioner and then Reiki Master. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 after taking a routine mammogram! After a Mastectomy and during chemotherapy and radiation treatment I found myself again majorly on the receiving end of Reiki both being administered by myself and also by others qualified to do so.
I invite you all to read through my website. I do hope you enjoy the photos, most of which I have taken on my travels around the South Island. You will continually see The Eye of Horus. This is from Ancient Egypt and carries the meaning of Health & Protection. I myself am fascinated with Egypt and in particular with The Valley of The Kings and having had the honor of being able to enter the tombs. I get prickly when talking about it still!
I attend the Holistic festivals in and around Christchurch and offer taster sessions of some of the therapies. Refer to the Notice Board for the next venue.
I am an avid volunteer with The Cancer Society in Christchurch and offer voluntary Reiki once a month at their offices in Fitzgerald Avenue, Christchurch. I also assist with Cancer Connect which is a voluntary service linking recently diagnosed patients to someone who has had the experience. Listening to them and allowing them to speak and vent. Talking in itself is very cathartic. If you know of anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer or indeed on the recovery track then I urge them to contact The Cancer Society directly. They offer brilliant support.
